On May, 1, 2012, Dr. Melanie Head will be the guest speaker at the Newburyport Rotary Club lunch meeting. She will be talking about benefits of geothermal for homes. Rotary is a charitable organization where 100% of proceeds go directly to charity. The Newburyport club meets at Glenn’s Restaurant every Tuesday at noon.

The Massachusetts Solar and Wind Expo was held on November 4th to the 6th, 2011 at the Royal Plaza Trade Center in Marlborough. The Expo is the premier meeting place for alternative energy and green companies to meet with those passionate about decreasing their carbon footprint! Seminar at P.F. Bruno & Co. Certified Public Accountants
On October 27th, EnergySmart visited the office of P.F. Bruno & Co. in Lynnfield, MA. We gave an informal presentation about how geothermal works and explained the benefits, both financial and environmental. The talk was followed by a terrific Q & A session with the P.F. Danvers Sustainability Fair

Massachusetts Energy Summit
Leaders in the energy sector and businesses that have implemented successful energy efficiency projects spoke at the the 5th Annual Massachusetts Energy Summit. Boston Home Show
The Boston Home Show took place at Suffolk Downs on October 14th through the 16th. We viewed the latest services and products for your home including green building and energy efficient products. Seacoast Green Building Coalition Meeting

Suburban Boston Fall Home Show
EnergySmart checked out the Suburban Boston Fall Home Show that took place from September 30 to October 2, 2011 at the Shriners Auditorium in Wilmingon, MA. With a combination of new products and expert advice from the pros, the Home Show inspires homeowners with countless ideas on enhancing their home’s comfort and functionality, as well as its aesthetic appeal and overall value. Dinner Seminar – New England Association of Engineering Geologists
Representatives from EnergySmart attended the September AEG dinner meeting on September  15, 2011 which was held at the Hilton in Woburn, MA. Prof. John E. Ebel from the Department of Earth and Environmental Science from the Weston Observatory of Boston College gave a very insightful talk about earthquake risk assessment in siting nuclear power facilities.  To learn more about AEG and how to attend future events, visit their website.

Wakefield Community Access Television Tour
We had great fun touring the WCAT station facility located behind the Wakefield High School. We explored how the general viewing public might be interested in seeing how an actual geothermal system was installed. Boston GreenFest 2011
EnergySmart attended the Boston GreenFest held at City Hall Plaza from August 18-20, 2011. This is an annual event that seems to get bigger every year! The great weather brought out a huge crowd of people interested in green building, green living and energy efficiency. Next year’s event is scheduled for August 16-18, 2012 and is bound to be the best yet!
